Cool gadgets for Christmas

Fancy this little fellow in your Christmas stocking?
The Pleo robotic dinosaur, which we first saw at the CEATEC show in Japan, is in the running to be this year's number one Christmas present.
The Pleo, made by Vivid Imaginations, is a robot dinosaur that responds to touch. He walks, talks, ‘eats’ leaves, and will move when you stroke or pat him. Feedback sensors under the chin, feet and on the body get him walking and wriggling with glee.
It's not the cheapest gizmo around, but it is being tipped as a top Christmas seller.
If a robot's not your bag, then how about a Sony ebook reader, which can hold hundreds of novels to read on the move, or maybe one of the next generation iPod nanos.
